This patient was unhappy with loose, sagging abdominal skin and stretch marks following 2 pregnancies. She also complained of weak muscles and bulging that would not respond to her consistent exercise routine. Given the degree of skin excess, poor skin quality, rectus muscle diastasis, and small umbilical hernia identified on exam, Dr. Albright recommended surgical correction with a tummy tuck. Her tummy tuck included fascial plication sutures to restore the rectus muscles to a more central position. The small umbilical hernia was reduced and fixed. VASER ultrasound-assisted liposuction (VASERlipo) was also performed in the flank regions to help narrow the waist and reduce stubborn fat deposits. This patient was happy with the outcome of this surgery which addressed multiple post-pregnancy changes. The results over 1 year from surgery demonstrate a smoother, flatter, tighter abdomen with fewer visible stretch marks.
