Procedure Details

This is an amazing young woman diagnosed in her 20's with left breast cancer. After completing chemotherapy, she proceeded to surgical treatment with bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies. Immediate reconstruction was performed with tissue expanders using a prepectoral technique (device positioned above the pectoralis major muscle) and FlexHD acellular dermal matrix. Use of tissue expanders allowed the patient to decide how much volume enhancement she wanted for her final breast reconstruction. Staged replacement of the tissue expanders with 450cc Mentor MemoryGel high profile, smooth, round silicone gel implants was performed in conjunction with a fat grafting procedure. The patient healed very well and she was very happy with the enhanced volume and projection of her reconstructed breasts.
