This is a pleasant woman in her early 50's with baseline small breasts who underwent a lumpectomy procedure. Following lumpectomy, the patient demonstrated a noticeable contour deformity of the left breast lower outer area. The patient was referred to Dr. Albright to discuss possible reconstructive options. She elected to proceed with bilateral augmentation mammoplasty to conceal the area of missing tissue and to enhance the breast size. After considering different implant options, the patient chose anatomically shaped ("teardrop") silicone gel implants, specifically Mentor MemoryShape 195 cc moderate plus profile devices. Her implants were placed through concealed incisions in the folds beneath the breasts. The patient recovered very well and was extremely happy with her results, endorsing improved body image and self-confidence. Her "after" photos demonstrate good shape and symmetry over 3 years out from surgery.
