This nice lady was advised by her breast surgeon to undergo lumpectomy to remove a suspicious left breast mass. She was referred to Dr. Albright to discuss oncoplastic surgery options to prevent a breast contour deformity after the lumpectomy. At her consultation, the patient also raised concerns with the appearance of her abdomen after multiple pregnancies. She was unhappy with her loose, sagging skin, excess abdominal fat, and weak muscles. She decided to move forward with a combined surgery to address her breasts and abdomen at the same time. Her "mommy makeover" included an oncoplastic mastopexy (with small reduction in breast size), full abdominoplasty, and liposuction of the flanks. Her tummy tuck included rectus plication, a technique that repositions the rectus muscles and tightens the abdominal wall. This can be likened to an "internal corset" to narrow the waist and restore core strength. Her striking transformation was obvious at 3 months after surgery as demonstrated in her "After Mommy Makeover" photos below.
