Heavy Breasts and Back Pain Relieved by Breast Reduction for Mom in Houston, TX

The mother of 3 presented for surgical consultation to address large breasts which she associated with chronic neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, and discomfort from bra strap grooving, especially with exercise. She had previous spine surgery for back pain and nerve compression as well. The patient wore a 34 DDD cup bra prior to surgery. In addition, she had a previous tummy tuck by a different surgeon and was unhappy with the results. She requested revision with liposuction to improve her abdominal contour. Lipocontouring of the abdomen, flanks, and lateral chest was performed in conjunction with reduction mammoplasty. Breast reduction removed 505 grams from the left and 561 grams from the (larger) right breast using a Wise incision pattern and inferior pedicle technique. This delivered dramatic symptom relief, perkier breast shape, and the smaller "C cup" breast size the patient was seeking. She was also happy with the flatter tummy and narrower waist achieved through VASER ultrasound-assisted liposuction.
