Bra Day 2019 in The Woodlands, TX
On October 15th, 2019, we held our annual BRA Day celebration at Tommy Bahama’s Restaurant in The Woodlands, TX. BRA Day, started in 2011 as a single day during breast cancer awareness month to advocate and educate women and healthcare providers about the vast array of reconstruction options available to women. The symbol comprised of the breast cancer ribbon, with a loop connecting both sides, embodies the concept of breast reconstruction - closing the loop after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Breast cancer takes so much away from women. From their sense of self confidence to their sexuality and femininity, but it also provides a reminder of the strength, courage & fight that resides in each and every one of you. I do not cure cancer. I am fortunate to work with some amazing and talented oncology specialists that can help you beat a cancer diagnosis, but my job and my passion is to get women back to enjoying the moments in life that have NOTHING to do with cancer.
Breast Reconstruction is a personal experience and I am honored to have been a part of giving you back a piece of what was taken from you. I remain humbled by witnessing the spirit and resiliency of each of you. I feel truly blessed to be able to assist and support the breast cancer patients in our community on their journey to recovery. We are new to The Woodlands community, but we are a part of this community. My wife and I live here, work here and are raising our family here.
Thank you to every person who made this night a huge success and such a fun evening of celebration. We had almost 130 attendees and raised over $3,000 for the PSF Breast Reconstruction Fund. This fund will help so many women receive the financial support they need for breast reconstruction. I look forward to the ongoing growth of this event and to continue to raise awareness for breast cancer and breast reconstruction options for every woman.
Stay tuned for more amazing community events coming in 2020.
